Huge Majestic Sailplane - Video

This sailplane is huge, gorgeous and certainly invokes majestic vibes as it soars along the mountainside in the video below.

Anyone Know What This Is?

In my best Crocodile Dundee voice "That's not glider. That's a Glider."

This sailplane is huge, gorgeous and certainly invokes majestic vibes as it soars along the mountainside in the video below. The video title says "Herlisberg Patrick Trauffer - Leichtflieger Libelle" but I couldn't find any information on this plane based on that. It's obviously a large built-up model, possibly based on an old free-flight design. I'd love to know more. Anyone out there know anything about this model?

I stumbled upon that video too. We need to get a hold of Patrick Trauffer somehow.

I believe this is called an Absolute Unit from Glidernormous. I hear guys who have this in California won't ship it though. \_(ツ)_/

I picked up some rudimentary details from my rudimentary German:

Somebody asks: "Where can I find plans?"
OP says: "Ask Patrick Trauffer."

Somebody knowledgeable says: "The term Leichtflieger or 'light flyer' is a bit misleading, after all this beast weighs 5.5 kg. The wing loading is just under 15g / dm2, a beneficially low value."

I couldn't tell you how to convert grams per square decimeter into ounces per square feet, or let's just say, it's not worth my while to find out right now.

Is there a grams per square decimeter in there? Frankly, I don't know what a good wing loading is in ounces per square feet either. I typically just use span and weight to get a general idea of how floaty a plane will be. Let's just say it's pretty damn light!

So I arbitrarily Googled a Bubble Dancer wing loading. It was 6.85 oz/sq ft.
