HV6100 Gearset Problems

I recently purchased replacement gearsets for my HV6110 servos and found that the central idler gears do not have the proper ID to fit the central shaft. That's a significant problem since the final gear on that central shaft is one of the ones that can strip out. While I'm happy with these servos, I'm disappointed in the QC for the replacement gearsets. I'm owed at least a couple replacement sets from MKS.

Be sure to check your 6100 top case

In conjunction with any gear stripping you may have with a 6100 servo, be sure to double check the fit of the center pin in the servo's top case. A hard knock on the servo can not only strip gears, it can also wallow out that hole for the center pin in the top case. If that happens, you'll strip new gear sets with extraordinary ease until you replace the top case.
