NotForSale Build Thread

There was a -40 sized nitro fun-fly i had years ago. Built from Model Airplane News plans in may 93?.Anyways I would like to see it scaled down to a 20-30 inch span 3-d but i have no experience with building of foam versus balsa. I made some best guess estimates of how big everything is from when i scratch built it. My question for those out there is this should it be foam or balsa, what would be lightest(epecially the fuse)...and would anyone like the measurments to start out with...

Respond if you may be intereted

Yes I would like to see what you've done. I'm seriously thinking of doing this same design in about a 26" wingspan.

Thanks,

Has anyone got anything to say about this build of either the full sized version or a scaled down size?

Thanks,

I have been working a 24" span version similar to Blaine Stetler's Notforsale (eyeballed the proportions). I want to have it lasercut. To date I have basically everything but the fuselage designed in detail. It should be light, somewhat like products from Steven's Aeromodel. My intent is not to sale a kit, but to electrify a plane that flew very well for me in the past (even after a mid air took the left elevator off).

FWIW this was in Model Airplane News; plans still available on their web site. Good buddy had one -- one of the first real 3-D before they called them that.
If I remember right, the kit producers ripped the designer off and sold the kit without his permission.

Of course, you guys are doing fine without plans.......glad to see some scratchbuilders still alive in spite of the gloom-and-doom predictions....

Anyone wants to see my 60 sized one? Will get some pics up soon ... its a fun plane to fly. I had the 40 sized on glow and the 60 will probably be EP! Such a nice plane for fun fly.

Sounds like there is still a lot of interest in this aircraft. I don't want to step on Blaines Stetler's feet, this was his design, and it is a good one at that. Does he peruse these web sites? I'd like some feedback if possible.

This is my Not 4 Sale ... its in 60 size and I hope to power it up with an AXI 4120/18 that is still lying around. Will probably go with a 6S set up. The wings are detachable for easy storage and transportation.

Tram - you do know why it was named that way don't you? Did you see the article? He had a few kids flying it as trainers.
