Hangar 9 Corsair in less than 24 hours to maiden...

Yup I did it and it did come down in once piece... I was going to document the build but it happened so fast I didn't have time to get the camera..

My Setup
Axi 4130-16
Master Airscrew 14x9x3
Pheonix 60
6S2P worth of packs
AUW 8.3 lbs = 132.8 oz
Flies really nice Batteries don't even get warm... Static Amp Draw is in the range of 41-42 amps acording to website calculations I will put it on a watt meter to get the real numbers..

No video. Would be a real shame if you didn't at least get some shots of this one in the air.

Kramer,

I think you missed the maiden because Willmsy was a bit excited to get it in the air right away. It still had 3m blue painters tape holding the canopy because the glue wasn't dry yet. It flew very well...and the canapy stayed on.

The H9 Corsair is so NOT a parkflyer! It has a 65" wingspan and weighs in the neighborhood of 7-8 pounds! It is meant for a .60 size glow motor!

There are two perfectly good forums for this plane:
Sport models: (electric conversions)

Scale Models: (anything scale)

I guess it depends on the SIZE of the park you fly in.

I think that by definition a parkflyer is something you can fly (relatively) safely in an uncontrolled environment. Doesn't matter how big the park is, kids, dogs, etc. can and will run after your model. They are like kid and dog magnets. You have to always expect that in a park. And if your model will cause serious injury to someone then it's not a parkflyer.

All that aside, I do fly my T-Rex heli in a park, but only when no one is around. The first person that shows up, I pack it up and leave. But just because I fly it some times in a park doesn't mean that it's a parkflyer.

Enough is Enough... A tennis ball can cause serious injury... I may have posted in the wrong forum, but dangit... the point wasn't that I fly in parks or not but that I got it built and flown in under 24 hours. Gees!

Ok, you can try to injure me with a tennis ball and I'll try to injure you with a 8+ lb. airplane. I wonder who will be going to ER??

So, you slapped together an ARF in 24 hrs. Have a cookie, cuz they don't pass out medals for that.
