on 3s the Mega 16/15/3 rocks. A lot of people are very happy with the Align 420 3200KV as well.

yeah..i'm happy with the 420lf, but i'm not a 3Der. It's a good sport/duration motor in my opinion. If you want serious power (at the expense of flight time), then there are better motors than the align 420lf....but they're almost twice the cost as well.

the aon 3500kv is apparrently excellent..but it's heavy at 100gms and it's trick to get it fitted inside the frame as it's quite large.

I have a 3200LF in a 3S. Working better since I shifted to High Governor (from fixed) on the CC35 (thanks Oz.. you motivated me to do that tweak). Performance is respectable... it loops OK (not sure that I do) and I think some mild 3D would be OK even on a 13t.

There is footage of someone doing lunatic stuff on a 15t with that motor - on the Align web site.

4S runs a Neu 1105/3Y.... I guess 4S is part of the difference but it is (most definitely) a different animal. 3D capable without a doubt... my inept thumb fumblings in loops have shown that it will leap around with some enthusiasm.

BUT... you can buy the 3200LF for $42... and a Neu or pretty much any of the 'performance' motors is $80 - $100+...

Mega 16/15/3 - probably overkill for a newbie like me.

I bought an Astro 803T (020) that I will be using with a Kokam 3s 2000 lipo. 180-270 watts should be fun with the Trex!

I have a Neu 1105/3Y, probably too much for you.

Sorry by that I mean it really needs 4 cells and more than aCC25, not too much power. In that case its toom uch for me!

I had a 400DH from justgofly.com and they are great, light and cheap.

Phils right, the new 450T is insane. Also light and cheap.

AON 3500 is the best three cell motor I have found for the Rex. I now have it in my XL.

I had an Aon 3500 on a 3s setup and climbout was ballistic at only 80% throttle
