North/South Carolina Beach shots! and some mountains

Alright, just got back from my week long vacation to the beach! a 19 hour car ride home is not as exciting as it sounds... I miss the place already. Got to fly almost every morning. Usually calm and a nice "hard" sand runway near the water. First off are some pics from Canton, NC (a few miles from Asheville). Sorry Rodger, I thought we were actually staying in Asheville, turns out we weren't.

The Rest are from the Beach. We had a house right on the ocean. Enough of my talking, here are some pics, I've got a video too, but haven't gotten to uploading yet. FWIW, these were taking from North Litchfield beach. About 15 miles south of Mytle Beach. The last picture is of the Sunrise the morning we left. Taken at about 6 a.m. EST. About 19 1/2 hours ago. Now, I'm 1300 miles away back at home. Crazy isn't it.

Thanks Rob, yea the walkway went over the dunes. The dune kind of erroded over the end of the walkway so we walked over sand. The house was really nice inside, despite the weathered look on the outside. It was always refreshing walking into an air conditioned house of like 68 degrees after being in the sun all day.

Outstanding photos Kyle, reminds me of OBX. Impressive altitude. Imagine you had to fight the wind all the way?

Thanks Alex, funny thing about the video.... haha. It's not working. I had the same problem with my Yellowstone Video. Bink and Smacker (my video converting tool) won't let me change my .mov file to a .avi file so I can edit it in movie maker... It's IMO a good video, but its over 55MB raw and don't have the webspace for that. Anyone know of another program I can use to convert my file?

Thanks! I'm gonna be honest with you... I was much surprised by how calm the beach was in the morning. It reminded me of yellowstone. Out there, no matter what, the mornings where always dead calm (but cold). At the beach, if I was out flying before 7:30 (which most of the pics where taken before 8 in the morning) I had no real wind problems. Except once I got way up there. I was impressed with the height I got. I finnally bit the bullet and went all out. Pretty close to specked out. I think the haze really dampened some of the shots though.

Looks like a good place to fly. Did it bug you to fly over open water?

As usual, great pictures. Thanks for posting.
