Will my six volt rc system hurt my transmitter?

If I have a five volt transmitter will hooking it into my receiver, which runs off six volts, will it fry it? I've seen these five volt setups, but would I have to change my plane over to a four cell pack in order to power it? Thanx for any help.

It's been a while.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Most electronics are able to run off higher voltages than they are rated for. If you think about it, they have to be able to handle voltage changes all the time if they run off batteries.
