Lake Wilson Slope Fly
As you guy's know the patient wif and I drove out from Ocala Florida, stayed at the Midland the food was great lbeit slightly pricy, but the beds I think Alabama poky would be more comfortable. Well Kansas wind gods didn't look favorble all we managed was about an hour with a Radian even that was not off the slope, but what a great site when the wind is a blowinf SE hard!
I had hops of selling some of my stuff bt was not to be so I'll advertise on RCG later the one model I was so sure would sell the /3 scale Moswey III it does need one wing finishing building, but other than covering 5m roll Coverite $71 which I bought in Overland Park was a steal, I'll finish it ready for painting, and offer it up again S--t I might even paint it Hmmmmm. Anyhow as I replied to Greg, I enjoyed you guy's company and most of all the help, just a pity the guy upstairs didn'y decide to shift the wind round to a more favorable direction. But for those of you in close proximity to Wilson Lake enjoy a beautiful site Dvid Da Glider Guy |

Planning a specific date to fly at Wilson is a real crap shoot, this is the case for most slopes actually. Unfortunately Wilson needs a good SE and that's just not as common. The prevailing winds are SW. After flying Wilson for 20 years, I probably got skunked 90% of the time. My best success was when I lived in Salina and was able to drop what I was doing and be at the lake within an hour.
Wilson offers some nice smooth inland flying but your gonna have to respond to the conditions as if it was a fire drill. |

Good to meet you - Da Glider Guy. I’m sorry it didn’t work out better for your flying or sale(s). Have a safe drive back down to Florida and hope to catch you on a slope again, somewhere.

Rocky Mtn Flyer, may I ask what glider bags you are using to hike in the picture you posted? I have only found either the cheap but well-liked/reviewed HobbyKing bag at $19 or the "refined" versions of REVOC (Aloft Hobbies) or directly from REVOC. Thank you

CPin CA: I apologize for the late reply, I've been out of town, on the road for most of October. LP has, I believe a Plane Quiver on his back. I have a plain top opening backpack, in my case by Gregory. On the ground is probably a glider bag from SoaringUSA, tho' I'm not sure.
