Yippee!
3D printed M-chassis
My new M-chassis design is up on Cults now.
https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/vari...chassis-rc-car It doesn't use oil dampers and is easy to drive. It's fast enough that I was accused of using "too fast" gear ratio compared to other M-cars today, but I'm within the gear ratio range of normal M05 cars with my 27 turn motor. |

From 2:25 in this video I'm driving the car. It's one of my favourite cars to drive now. It's super easy to drive with a stock Tamiya silver can and slightly more challenging with a Torque Tuned.

I drove again today and in addition to all the usual tumbles and crashes with other cars it allended with a full speed head on collision with another car coming the opposite way on the other side of the track. He jumped the divider line and hit my car head on. It shattered the right front spindle and bumper, but that was it... oh, and the body shattered too The front right of the body is held together with helicopter tape now.
I don't use a servo saver but because I designed the car with the kingpin down through the tire patch and so close to the wheel there is no damage to servo or steering links, unlike on Tamiya cars where the entire kingpin runs 5 mm outside the front wheels. The fan mount I added to the car keeps the motor from overheating. It made a huge difference. Before I installed it the motor got too hot to touch. |

Someone with a Tamiya chassis got mad at me on saturday because my car was significantly faster than his M07 or whatever even though I ran a stock Tamiya 27t silver can motor and the same total gear ratio as M05. I don't know what the problem was. It was open practice and I could drive whatever car I wanted.

I just bought an Anycubic Vyper and I'm definitely going to print one of these. Maybe 2 of them. I've got a "local" hobby shop that's about to open an indoor carpet track and a buddy that wants to go but doesn't have anything onroad. A pair of these could be a lot of fun.

I bought all bearings and belts from aliexpress. The shipping has been decent latley.
Im making the pins out of some 2+3mm rod I already have. Most of the screws I had on hand, it get pricey real quick buying dubro screws at the hobby shop, the longer ones Ill have to buy online somewhere. I dont know anything about mini, what tires are compatable, just M type? And where to buy, amain has mostly losi mini B tires. Hopefully I can have this done before carpet season ends, end of march. |

Yikes- this stuff is addictive! I'm building the Badger- and then Kamlooper- I started checking out the M-chassis after you mentioned it (I'd had a few Tamiya M-03's back in the day), so now I'm downloading the files, will start building one too.

Oh absolutely.. I bought the files already. The M chassis has a lot of parts in common with the Badger- so that is cool. But yes- the mkultra does look like a beast. I will be sourcing all the parts for that one soon.

Maybe Lynxman will pop back in here.... but I wonder if this body would fit, looks tall enough in the front..?

Did a bit of a mock up, i should be able to try a few bodys on it to check fitment.
Waiting for a multitude of parts |

Looks like it will work but I can't say for sure. The really ugly Blitz C30 fits.
