Contest
BRASS F5J May 1and2
This one slipped through the cracks as we will just have to roll with it a quote from WBG.
This will be the first BRASS F5J contest in beautiful Waynesboro VA right up in them blue ridge moutans. I have never been to the new field so we will have to just get reports as we go along. Here is the link we have five pilots so far could use ten at least. http://www.flyesl.org/Contest.aspx?contestid=346 We were too late to get this one on the tour for your tour point junkies like me but it is a open time of year May 1 nothing going on far as the contest goes. Edit not to late to be on the tour, thanks. I am not sure where the field is but here's the around here GM location https://www.google.com/maps/place/72...!4d-78.9554222 The ESL guys have a very good contest circuit that really gets left out of groups often but really they we want you to attend due to the same problem elsewhere and that's lack of attendance. I am hoping the ESL will slide to the F5J side and hosted more F5J contests. I know if they are within driving distance I will go. The guys out in CA have it made with all the many contests they have each year. |

A quarter-mile further up from the red marker. Left side.
Nearest hotel is Valley Extended Suites. Has individual external entrances and is brand new. Any hotel in Staunton or Waynesboro is close. |

Tom how do you get on the field? At the barn with the circle drive?

Looks like lots of open area.

There's a drive right through the middle of the field. The owner is building a new house in the back. The G earth shot is a few years old. It's really easy to see and find. I'll get the drive off my dash cam and post it. There is a lot of open area, but it can get tricky since you are on a bit of a hill in the middle. Have to make sure you don't get too low and not make it back up the hill. Sort of like Daniel Boone. There's a flatter area where we will do winch stuff, but it's more fun on the higher ground. I'll also do a drone shot later this week.
