Mini Kaos Tiled plans

Does somebody out there have the mini kaos plans? Tiled or untiled or both? I had them at one point but can't seem to locate them. They are probably on one of my many backup-cd's or possibly on one of my other computers.

Thanks,
Kenny

Kenny,
I've got a "CAD Kaos " plan -58" in dxf format and a 65% kaos in dxf format.
the 65% is 935k and CADKaos is around 945k.
PM me your email address and I can send them to you in an attachment if your mailbox will hold them.

The 65% Kaos is a fully symetrical, 38" wing span for an old OS-15, drawn up by Joe Jopling in CAD.

There was a Dave Robelen "Mini-Kaos" with a 34" flat bottomed wing for modern 1/2A published in MAN a few years ago.

Which one are you looking for?

And let's not forget the Half-a-Chaos, designed for .049 -.051 power.

I was looking for the mini-kaos, but I did not know it was flat bottom. But still looking for that one.

I would love to get my hands on the half-a-chaos as well.

My design intent is for a 180 watt power system with 3s 2200 lipos. Auw less than 20 ounces...

Here's the link to the webpage that will allow you to download DXF file for the 65% Kaos. The wing is very thick, and I would consider reducing it to around 14% of chord. Otherwise, looks like a winner!

Thanks Don, I think I can work with that. Now to somehow resize it.

I have an 1/2A Kaos kit & plans. It uses the Tapered Ace foam wings, a teardrop canopy, and about $5.00 worth of sheet balsa.

#32 on my "Gotta build" list.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! And it wouldn't be #32 on my build list either! Afterwards I would see about a foamy version.

As for my efforts so far I have not been able to manipulate the image with my viewer as it is only a viewer. When I tried to print it out it only printed a small portion of the plan. I am not sure what to do next. As for a canopy that is something I need as well. I live in an apartment and have limited tools for carving wood blocks and such. Can one buy such canopies on the web these days? Even so I do need to learn how to make my own canopies.

Will your viewer allow you to save the image as a .jpg file? If so it might alllow you to use another free program to resize it.

Sig used to sell a line of different Vac formed canopies. If you have trouble finding one, you could always just carve a solid balsa one. IIRC, it's only about 3/4" x 3/4" x maybe 3".

GregG, I had not thought of that or tried it. I do so wish that it will. I think Microsoft's paint program aloows one to do that. Of course I can't use it but I will try my viewer and see. It would be a great help.

SchiessCo, thanks. Even more simple. Still I need to try the save as thing for other images I have in future projects.

Nope... I use Voloview. A nice viewer to be sure. It just won't save as a jpg or gif. All my cad files are dxf and when i tried to save as... Only dxf. More research is required. There are other viewers out there but I fear that thru their limited features (after alll they are just viewers. well this one prints too) I think I will need to use a full featured cad program to do more. Which merans I will have to learn how to do that as well.
Ahhhh! the things we do for our hobby!
