Electric conversion of Guillows PBY Catalina to flying status
We are building this Guillows balsa frame static Catalina seaplane as a flying scale model powered by twin electric motors, probably Mega 25/25's. We've built and flown a Donald seaplane as an electric powered by a big brushless Phasor 45/3 (plenty of power and so strong an airframe that it survives swimming lessons!) and Li-polys. So we know that the PBY will have to be well reinforced with carbon fiber rods and tape and epoxy. Any thoughts you have on this kit or this plan of ours would be appreciated. BTW has anyone built the other big Catalina kits out there made by G&P Sales?
