Finally we have had travelling restrictions lifted in Wales and myself and a couple of friends were able to head to a slope for some flying. Wind conditions were light, and sometimes the NE wind disappeared altogether, but when it was there it was bitterly cold.

Itīs from Italy vacation June 2020, shortly after the Covid border opening last year.
I fear this year the border will probably still be closed in June

There is a magnificent slope somewhere in Italy (no other adjective will suffice) that Beppe and others used to fly called something like:
Marbonne or similar word.
He and others used (maybe still do) fly heavy loaded Singrays and similar aircraft.

I wish I could still find those (now old) videos.

Anyone know?

Jim.

Hi Jim,

the slope you mean is Margone.

There is a club that operates the launch site: http://www.gatrentino.it/

I can't find a Margone video in a hurry, but I have some pictures from a nice day there in 2013

That is it! Thanks Uwe. I will download and watch your videos above and look for some of the old Margone videos, if they still exist.
(I am a closet fan of Beppe's Stingray, as well as being envious of that site and some you post videos of).

I thought you might have gone there, or as it turns out, close to there.

Very very close!

Having said that, here was my problem:
A kind man in RCG gave me discrete and very accurate information about and directions to Spitzbuhl.
I had no such information for any of the slopes around Lake Garda save a couple of Google map coordinates.
So I had no idea how long the detour would take ....and with the rest of the family in the car, I wasn't going to take a risk of a long search and no joy!

Next time I know who to ask for directions!
