Walkera or Colco in Australia

hi
am hoping someone can help - i have read many posts to the point of confusing myself, i am looking to get back into RC flying with a micro heli - probabley off e-bay, top of my list are the walkera dragonfly FP 4 and the Colco Tunderbird. having read the many great posts on the walkera i was intending in going that direction however i am now leaning tworads the colco for the following reasons:-
-RC on the colco is not all in one units - so if one bit breaks you only need replace that item which is broekn
-spares seem to be more widely avaible on Oz than walkera - not even sure where i would get a 4in1 for a walkera from in Oz
-there is the posiibility of using the RC out of the colco in park flyers
-can get one from a person in Australia rather than importing from china/HK

could anyone in the know let me know if these are fair assumptions

many thank in advance

Maxy get a get dragonfly instead. The 2 you are looking at are not supported well in Oz but the gws is. walkera specialises in cheap and nasty clones not a company worth dealing with, all the stuff i have seen from them is crap. The colco's i have had a play with and are also garbage.

Modelflight sells a barebones GWS Dragonfly for $128. This is a good foundation to work from, and they will provide good support.

The 2005 Dragonfly will be coming out sometime soon as well. Maybe not soon enough for you though. The new Dragonfly will have the 300 main motor, DD tail, new PHA-300 3-in-1 and new higher perforamance main blades.

The Colco does have a seperate gyro, which seems to be a clone of the GWS PG-03, but still has a 3-in-1 reciver/ESC/Mixer... not true seperates... problem here is that of the 3-in-1 breaks, you have to buy the replacment from them, or if you want to upgrade to true seperates you will need a Reciver, ESC's, and a radio that can do revo mixing, as the supplied radio DOESNT, the mixing is done by the 3-in-1.

The Transmitter, I dont know if it would be usable on anything else or not, like i said the reciver is part of the 3-in-1 so you cant seperate it out from the rest, I can tell you the walkera transmitter will NOT work with a normal reciver, but the transmitter doesnt cost all that much anyway...

Im not saying dont get the colco, just dont want you to get it thinking its better than it is, one thing that upset me when I got my walkera #4, the seller had listed it as having a seperate reciver, which obviously it doesnt =)

If the colco is easyer to get spares for, that might be the best choice... but make sure it actualy is easier... are you basing this off local spare or just that seller is there in australia? if so make sure they actualy carry spares....
