Vented cans and curved magnets for CDROM based motors.

All STRONG setscrew cans can now be purchased with vented cans.
Stock GB cans are also available with STRONG Vent holes. The vent holes add cooling, reduce weight by about 0.6 g and provide a nice high tech look.
Add STRONG curved magnets and you can have the highest efficiency and coolest looking CDROM around. Put a new look and new performance on your old CDROM motors. Exclusively available at STRONG RC MOTORS Check the "Cans" and "Can Parts" pages.

That

Has to be one of the best inovations ive seen, the holes are well placed without weakening the can front plate too much ,and placed close to the outer rim where they will be the most effective for max'cooling ,the 20mm should make up into one of the best indoor 3d motors for knuffels and sx2 & 3s' around, this coupled with the other advantages you have bought to kit building it has to rank top of the list, I WILL BE ORDERING.
cheers.

STRONG curved magnets for the 20 and 22.7 mm stator motors have a nominal airgap of 0.10 mm

Well Don you've done it again!
I ordered out a couple of vented cans and the curved magets to see what difference it would make over a standard GBv. My normal wind for the GBv is 20T 26awg and with N50 magnets (12 pole NSNSNS) makes 8.4 oz. of thrust (10600 rpm @5.0 amps) with the GWS 7x3.5hd prop, and 12.9 oz. thrust (8760 rpm @ 6.5 amps) with the GWS 8x4hd prop. This was with a TP 730 3s battery.

I wound the motor with the "Strong Curved Magnets" 18T 26awg to try to compensate for the lower kv that others have reported and the results were outstanding. 10.7 oz. thrust (11910 rpm @5.2 amps) with the 7x3.5hd, and 14.9 oz. of thrust (9390 rpm @ 7.8 amps) with the 8x4hd prop. I used the same 3s lipo for both sets of tests.

The motor only weighs 26 grams and puts out almost 15 oz. of thrust at reasonable amp draws. I'm impressed.

Rick, congratulations and thanks for posting your results. Can you post a picture for us? Show off that nice vented can.
