What is wrong with my FMS sim?

I downloaded the FMS simulator and the models move at about 2 frames per second!( or really slow) is there a way to make it go faster?
the planes look like they are going like 1/10 of a MPH!.

thanks!

Go into graphics and turn off textures.

You should be running FMS through a 3D graphics card, and a resolution to match your monitor - 1024x768 for example.

If you run it in a Window, you'll have to turn off Textures.

Make sure you have DirectX installed, and you are using your video card.

You can click on the top of the screen with the mouse to get the menu choices to appear.

Choose joystick or keyboard if that's what you're using for the interface.

speaking of FMS, is there any way to adjust trim while using a joystick instead of a transmitter adapter?
