3D Printed 30mm EDF
Oh dear ! Just not producing usable thrust ! Current draw is under 1A @ 25,000rpm Not showing signs of blowing up ![]() But the fan is not loading up .. It blows air , but just not a usable amount of air . Was it going to be that easy ![]() |

Mayby there is a reason why if for low rpm you can use a 4 blade prop and if you increase rpm you must switch to 3 blade and higher rpm to 2 blade and for very high rpm single blade. Even for EDF there is probably an optimal number of blades in function of rpm and entering speed of airflow. Try to test it with a blower in front of it to see if trust will increase.

My printer is printing rubbish at the moment ... ??
Dont know whats happened ? One minute I can print these fine fans , next I cant . It's all gone to pot ! I was going to do a double stack .. Two layers of fans . My guess is the blades are just to small to move air in usable amounts . The 50mm fan produced 50 grams of thrust .. Scaling it down seem to have ruined it . |
