New Fiberglass F-16 Kit from... UKRAINE !

look here :

I started a Thread with NEW Fiberglass F-16 KIt

At present I am still windering it I fit an EDF inside or if I convert it to a Pusher Prop.

Complete Kit Weight 380 Grams (fuse=200, wings=128, tailrons=31, fin=21)

--> Advices will be welcomed on this choice (EDF or Pusher) and on the type of FAN I can fit-in if I choose EDF.

Does soeone has already purchased AND FLY this Kit ?

I Want One!

Ive been bit by the edf bug real bad, and I want one of these. It looks like ducting would be real easy to make. Minifan maybe? Pusher would be easier, but with a df that thing would scream...

I think this is a remake of the Kyosho F-16 only it's cleaned up a bit and it's all composite. (They used a Kyosho f-16 as a plug for the mold)

I had one in my hands not too long ago. It was very well made and could be a lot of fun although grossly out of scale it was very pretty.

The guy had a mini fan in it that fit just fine and it was nice and light. Forget the pusher prop though. No need and that prop on the back will not do it justice at all.

Too small for me though.

look inside !

here is a high res image of the inside

so, now that I decided thanks to you all to make it an EDF rather than a pusher prop, I need advice to see :

- how to fix the FAN
- can I use a Schuebeler DS30 rather than a MiniFAn
- Do I need to built a ducting ? only exaust or also intake ? what diameter ?

keept in mind that The exaust diameter is 68mm and the internal diameter available inside the fuselage is up to 90mm. Total weight of the Kit (fuselage + wings + tailrons... is only 380 grammes).

it would be a good idea to check the intake area first, before deciding on the EDF unit.

Have fun with fans

signing on, looks like I'll be building mine with you Bmaaa I need to get this finished for the August EDF fly-in at Kentucky.

Never having seen the Schuebeler DS30, I don't know if the size and mounts are compatable with a Mini-fan, or not. At the worst, you may have to wrap the fan with foam and slide it inside the fuse, till it fits in place. I don't see why you could not use it, though, any simular sized fan should be adaptable to this kit.

I know it has been said that ducting is not necessary for this jet, however I may try and make something to fit it out of some type of plastic.

The DS-30 fan unit is compatible to the Mini Fan.
It only is some 10th of a mm thicker in outer dia.
But if you have to make the formers anyway it does not matter.
So the choice is yours. They will both fit.

Manufacturer's building "Instructions"

I thought I better throw this out now, so you all know what your up against with this jet.

There is NO Manual for building this plane, I wrote to the Importer for some type of instructions and this is what I received.

The INSTRUCTION ON ASSEMBLY of PLANE F-16 "Fighting falcon"

1) To establish preliminary impeller in a ring from polyfoam in a
fuselage. To not glue! Further moving impeller in a fuselage
reaches(achieves) the necessary centering.

2) To establish a longeron in a fuselage, to fix by ciakrin. To put
epoksid glue on root nervurs wings, a fuselage, on a longeron on
his(its) perimeter, an end face of Kiel. To establish these details on
a place and to give to harden to glue.

3) To establish on a place of half of stabilizer, To fix their screws
so that they could rotate.

4) To fasten on a place servo. To connect drafts to wild boars
(fastenings) the stabilizer.

5) To establish in обтекатель a nose the receiver. To establish and
draw a collar the accumulator to a plywood platform. A regulator of a
course to fix an adhesive tape in a convenient place between the motor
and the accumulator. In 1-2 centimeters before the beginning of the
accumulator to drill apertures in a fuselage in diameter 15мм. Above
these apertures to fix by ciakrin air inlets of cooling of the motor.

6) To establish a lantern. To check position of the centre of gravity
and to fix impeller epocsid glue. To establish a cowl. It's all - fly!

Hi Oliver,

Thank you for the Info on the Schuebeler DS30 Fan!!

I'll be installing a Minifan in mine, although from the data sheet it looks like a Midifan could possibly fit too.

Hi guys,
I have this plane with a Mega 2/turn and WeMotec fan. There are a couple of things you should look at. First once you install the fan and motor and attach the wings there is no way to adjust anything. Randy from dynamoelectrics had me do an instruction manual on it but do to a problem getting kits it never went any further. There are also some major mods that have to be done to make it stable
Talk to Randy and if OK with him I will post pictures and instructions.

This is odd. I finished up a couple of projects, and was trying to decide what next. Last night I got out my F-16 and looked it over- I figured if I could get the fan mount figured out, the rest will be easy I ended up shrugging and tossing it all back in the box, then today here is this thread The one thing I noticed was that the inlet lip for the fan was a perfect, tight fit in the fuse. Today it occured to me to make formers traced from the inlet, with the fan placed in them to center in the fuse. Pert simple, so that's what I'm gonna do. Still have to decide if I am going to cut the mounting ears off the fan- my method here will be much simpler if I do. I am thinking two mounting rings- the back one glued to the fuse, the front glued to the fan only. The front ring will have a couple of hard blocks inset- screws coming from the outside of the fuse will hold the whole thing in. Make sense?

I'll use the inlet ring for the front ducting, and a tail cone tube for the rear.

I'm open to ideas and suggestions, but to me what I have seems pretty light, quick, and efficient. And will almost automatically line itself in the fuse.

BTW- Seems I have the only grey w/ graphics one I've seen, anyone else?

Weeelll now, hope I do like it But this is awful easy. I struggled with a plan for sliding rail mounts and such, but no easy answers were materializing...I won't finalize ( cut or glue ) till the rest of the plane is done anyway. I'll use final fan placement for the CG setting..
