Looking for info

Got this plane before it ended up in a trash can.
Would like to find the same model and make to put the motor and retracts in it after cleaning them up.
It has a Rossi 60 and has a 65Ē wing span

The guys here classic-pattern-flying can tell you all about it. Looks to be a good restoration project. I'm hanging around the wrong trashcans.

If you cannot save the airframe then all you get really is the engine. If some one toss it in the trash can you may want to take the engine apart to check if it is worth salvaging. Pretty hard to find piston and sleeve for the Rossi 61. Probably easier to find a whole engine.

There must be a reason why the plane is in the trash......

Left it out in the sun too long and the elevator melted?

It looks like there hasnít been a drop of fuel in it.
Pulled the motor and the air retracts.

No sure what that meant. If there is not a drop of fuel in it that just meant it has not been run for a long time and what ever is in it dried up or evaporated. The engine looked used. I am sure it had fuel in it before.

There are a lot of short kits and foam wings here.

I'm sure if you don't take it literally, he could mean that there is no carbon build-up or at least the engine looks very clean. It does look like a pretty decent engine from the pics. If it rotates smoothly and has compression... then it's probably good to go.

There is definitely a fine layer of rusts on the exterior steel parts. If the engine has no fluid on the inside I am almost certain the crank shaft and bearings will also have rusts. So a full disassembly and parts replacements will be necessary as the minimum.

What I didn't see from the picture is evidence of castor oil deposit. Maybe that's what the OP meant by no fuel.

Unless there is more damage than I am seeing in the photos, that airframe looks repairable to me.
