Make one 3s2p from two 3s1p

Hello.
I have a Quest Storm with the biggest Nippy motor and I do not have the punch I think the motor can deliver. Now I use PQ1800 3s1p and I do think that they are limiting the current. I wonder if I can just connect two packs paralell without risking anything? The extra wheight will be ok with the plane. Of course I will check that it's two fully charged packs. Is there anything more I shall do/think of?

Regards Mats

As long as you airplane can carry it, there's no problem with using two packs in parrallel. You can either build yourself a Y harness to connect both, or more simply attach two battery connectors to your ESC. You'll have to charge them one at a time though. I think that's better with lipos although some will argue parrallel charging works too.

I have a bunch of 3s1p 1250 for small parkfliers, and i have opted not to buy larger packs for larger electrics planes I fly, but put 2 (or 3 in some instances) in parrallel. Easier on the budget than maintaining different packs for different size planes, i am getting max usage from my lipos not leaving them on the shelf to die on their own from old age and lack of usage.
