Well, there hasn't been any action on this thread in a while. Anyone still building or flying the SA Cap 232?
I have a Stella and a Groove and a Scorpion 3020-12 that is looking for a plane and the SA Cap looks like a candidate. How does it fly: like a big Groove? How is it in the wind? How does it compare with all the new ARF's like the 3DHS ships? It is an "old" design compared to these newer planes. I really like building the SA planes, but I suspect the 3DHS ships may be more evolved. I wonder if there will be a version 2 of the Cap. I notice the SA Edge, which seems to be a more recent design, has a sheeted leading edge, for example. Any comments would be welcomed. |

Your right about ultracote,I was changing blades every 10-20 min when using the stuff.Wasnt hard to get wrinkles out but monocote or solarfilm is a lot easier to deal with.Solarfilm has a lower heat range than Monocote,it would be a good idea to practice on some scrap before covering your model.Take it from a guy who had NO HELP!!! when learning this hobby, learned to fly on my own also, many planes worn out from crash repairs.Ive used solartex, monocote, litetex, solarfilm, fastcal, and a few others over my 40 plus years of building models
