What Paint Should I use to Paint a Pilot?
I am painting a Williams Bros pilot for a Sig AstroHog. These pilots come in basic flesh tone colors and are plastic. Since the pilot will be exposed to glow fuel, and colored dope seems to be difficult to come by in small quantities, what should I use to paint the pilot? It doesn't need to detailed, but I don't want to just glue it together and stick it in the cockpit.
I've tried to find 1/5 scale pilots that are pre-painted, but I haven't had a lot of luck. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

I've had a few glow planes with open cockpits,, never really had an issue with the pilot and regular testors enamel paints
but look up Bazzboe, he has a few prepainted pilots he sells https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ian-Pilot-Bust |

The pilot from my old Astrohog is the only thing left these days (sniff). To paint my pilots, I've always used water based acryllics. No, they aren't fuelproof but when's the last time you found fuel on your pilot? You can buy these small bottles at Walmart in the crafts section. They are pretty cheap I also highly recommend you get a copy of Don Typond's video, "how to paint pilot figures". It is very informative.
