Many weight saving components installed with end goal of under 10lbs AUW and looking like this will be met.

Few ounces over 10lb goal but still far lighter than average 30cc Sbach build Iíve seen online so very pleased. And ZERO dead weight added to carry around, something Iím dead against doing. Should fly incredibly with AUW 10lb.4oz .

Reducing weight along the way by simply replacing full size servos with high torque minis which takes weight out of tail for CG replace gear mount bolts with aluminum versions, collars, dubro foam wheels 2/14 all aluminum washers, standoffs sourced from Mcmasters and very light compared to rc labeled standoffs. 850mah receiver battery no switch etc. every little bit will add up at the end just like saving money over time.

Haha wrong photo. Hi Dad. Standoffs from McMaster. They have great selection of components for your build.

Interesting project. Seems like I've got lot of questions.

What exact Sbach kit / ARF this is? What is the wingspan?
What ESC and what batteries (how many cells) you're going to use?
What about the exact motor model (KV)? What prop you're going to use?

Keep up good work!

At that weight and wing area, that is going to be light on the wing and fly really great. Well done!
Looking forward to your flight report...

Well roughly month build and extremely happy with how this gold wing bird flys. CG 5 1/2 back, factory 4 7/8 back is very nose heavy and poor setup. Rock solid harriers and clean flat spins. Lands like a trainer at 5 1/2 back CG and completely neutral. Knife edge spins lock in with no mixes. Only problem Iím having is tail wheel wire connector to rudder is pulling out of collar so ordering another design from f3a unlimited to try. All in all one of the best planes Iíve ever flown. So any questions about general hobby gold wing arfs are gone. Very light just use your modeling skills were needed.
