Damnit eachine.. i cant just keep buying helis all the time! Omp still looks more refined and higher quality. However a good price point for a solid DD heli from eachine can easily be a win. I still love my e160. Im sure id love the e180 also. Price.. hmm. E160 rtf went for avg 180 ish? Omp m2 explore bnf is 250. So id say e180 would have to clock in around 200 or 210. Any higher and people would likely consider the omp m2 explore instead. Unless they need the eachine rtf tx. Still a great deal. I paid 250 for my first blade 130x bnf ha.
Very cool eachine! |

It's a clear and blatant rip-off of the OMPHobby M2 V1..
This of course is nothing unexpected as Eachine specialise in copying other manufacturer's designs. I have to admit that while it was WLToys they were ripping off I turned a blind eye but now I have some insight into the hard work that OMPHobby have put into the design of their heli, it's disappointing to see it so blatantly copied. |

It's not a clone for sure. There is not a lot of ways to make a high end mid motor helicopter with CF and light alloys, they will end up looking much alike. They have the right to try this market.

Not a direct clone admittedly, but the similarities are for too great to claim that it's not based very closely on the M2. Of course they have the right to try the market but it would be nice if they did an original design rather than a copy 'with some tweaks here and there'.

The rotor head, swashplate design and the tail designs are basically the same as e160 and xk 130 than OMP. I hate their swashplate design don't know how they come out with that design, in my e160 and xk 130 the back servo horn is touching the swashplate guide. The only thing it similar to OMP is the body frame. |

I agree Smoggie, but like I tried to say, rc helicopters are mature in term of design. If they want to build a reliable functional heli with the same ingredients , there is a big chance that at the end the result will look like "some tweaks here and there". Having said that, I'm sure a strip down M2 was on the work bench at Eachine !

Options Yes!
More options/competition the better it is for us consumers. I'm really more into the TREX-150X / MCPX series size. I'm waiting for the M1 to be widely available. I hope they make a smaller version similar to size of the MCPX series / TREX 150X.
I hope somebody comes up with a unique power train design similar to the Duzi R5 NOVA https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...d-build-thread but in a micro size similar to MCPX series... |
