Jeti 500 vs Kontronic 4001: Can't Make Up My Mind

I need to buy a 40 amp ESC for my LT-25 powered with a Turbo 10 Plus, 6:1 gearbox, 10 cell 2400 Nicads and 10 cell 3000 Nimh, 12X8 or 13X8 prop and 3 HS-81MG and 1 HS-81.

I'm torn between these two ESCs.

The Jeti is slightly heavier, but has an on/off switch. It is more expensive $79 vs $45 for Kontronic.

I don't mind spending more if the Jeti is better. I've read the throttle management with the Kontronics 4001 doesn't appeal to some. Slight movements in the stick cause big changes in power.

If I do spend $80 I guess I would consider the Kontronics Star ESCs.

Should I consider the Great Plane Electrifly C-50?
I need help deciding.

I went with the Kontronik, which will be shared between an LT-25 & an E3d.

I chose it partly because I hadn't heard anything negative, but mainly because it appears to have a more robust BEC - 2A, 4 servos to 12 cells. I'll probably only use 8-10 cells, so it fit my need well (and cost less )

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, so that's all I can offer

good luck

I use both the kontronik sun 4001 & the kontronik star 40 bec. both work very well. the star esc can be programed for sailplanes, competition, helicopter... the bec of the star 40 is rated at 1.5A against 2A of the sun 4001, both OK for four servos but I suppose you'll feel more secure with the 2A bec.

both controllers are very light & small, no problem here.
I am not familiar with the Jeti line of esc's.
