I'm happy someone has started a dedicated thread for the Lentus. A few of us had been discussing it on the Solius thread but better it's own slot I think.

Saw this one on the MPX FB group, really curious when it will hit US shores.

I already have two Multiples gliders, I really do not need another!...maybe.

Silent but deadly!
Too expensive for me for a foamy when there are other options available with a glass fus and veneer foam wings at around 500 Euro.

500 euro for a glass fuse, foam core veneer wings.. No servos, no motor, no ESC, no prop etc... Kit version of Lentus =250 Euros. That doesn't make it overly expensive by comparison in my book

It's expensive for a foamy for sure. However, I don't build any more and even ARF's are a motivational challenge for me. I'm spoiled, I guess, with all the PnP and RR planes. I might consider this plane in RR version if I can get rid of my FMS Fox. I'll see about putting it up for sale after the new year.

The FMS fox three meter might be the worst plane I ever owned. I soured on it quickly after having the stock prop blades fail twice, taking the nose of the fuse off each time.. I never particularly cared for how it flew either. FMS did take care of me though, sending me a new fuse and replacement props. It's been sold to another club member and I was honest with him that I didn't like how it flew. He bought it anyway, flew it ONCE and put it away

Certainly not a good sailplane. As a powered sport plane it's OK. I've toyed with the idea of putting landing gear on it, as hand launching it is the biggest problem for me.
Kinda like this.

Agreed. Most will shy away from the RR version because of price but the kit version isn't too far off the mark... All MPX stuff is expensive to start with, at least here in the states

Can anybody tell me about wingloading?
The Lentus is about 23% greater wingloading than the Heron, 46 g/dm as opposed to 37.5 g/dm.
Would this go against its thermalling abilities compared to the Heron, or does being a larger plane go in its favour?
I believe Reynolds number might have something to do with this, but I don't know what, or its relevance generally.
