TX for AR9200

I just got a 50cc plane and it has a AR9200 rx in it. I have a dx8 tx that wont bind to it. Will a dx9 tx work with this rx?

All 3 DX8's and DX9 will bind to a DSM2 receiver like the AR9200. It's only the DXe and EU-spec transmitters that don't.

Often corroded connectors on the remotes can cause issues. Note the AR9200 is a PowerBox evolution combined with DSM2 remotes. It does need all 3 remotes plugged in and responding to work.

Thanks for the reply. My concern is that its an AR9 that it needs at last a 9 channel tx. I will check the wire connections and give it another try.

No, it doesn't need a 9-channel transmitter. It will work with any DSM2-capable transmitter from DX6e through iX20.

It needs a remote receiver. Do you have that attached?

Good to know. It has three remote receivers attached.

As Mawz said, the most common problem is dirty connectors. Remove the cables and replug at both ends. I also like to spray on some contact cleaner.

When working correctly, the main receiver and all remote receivers will flash rapidly when in bind mode.

I got it to work. The forward remote rx plug was not in all the way.

Thanks everyone for the help.

So I wanted to send my AR9200 in for a check up to see if it was in good working order but I was told that HH doesn't work on these anymore. I did the bind thing to this like 6 or 8 times now and no issues. Mover the wires around and no issues. Haven't done a range check yet but I will. Is there any reason to think this rx would not be reliable? I know there is no guarantee.

If it passes range check, you should be good.

There's never a guarantee, but a range check is the best test.

The DSM2 receivers with remotes are still excellent. I have used AR6200 and AR7000, as well as JR DSM2 receivers in older models for years without any problems whatsoever. Only in difficult RF conditions would I worry about their reliability compared to DSMX. Or with high value models.
