ESC's with solder connections vs already with wires

I see ESC's where you have to solder the wires on one end with wires already connected on the other end, wires on both ends, and no wires at all so you have to solder the wires on both ends.

All things being equal, is there any reason not to choose the ESC that already has the wires connected on both ends? If so, why do they even have ESC's where you have to solder your own wires?

Thanks for any feedback.

On the battery end every one has their own preference for connectors, Deans/XT60, etc.
On the motor end at least here in the sailplane community people like to shorten them up to fit in very tight spaces.
