was surfing the internet and landed on horizon hobby's website (US-site, eventhough I'm located in EU) and suddenly my eye caught the sales advertisment of the upcoming Nano S3

Kinda of curious

Theres nothing shown in that thread, only name, price and preorder shipment date...

Hope HH would provide more details soon. If it has a 1S/2S BL or DBL setup it would be really interesting.

If I had to guess I'd say brushless main motor, but still coreless tail and/or basic voltage telemetry.

That is special. The S2 thread was started on February 14 2019 by BD.

The product description and pictures are there now. Nothing about S3 thats new is going to make run out and get one., unless I completely destroy mine.

A new flight controller comes totally re-tuned from the ground up improving AS3X stability, an improved SAFE mode with angle demand, and an improved panic recovery. On top of that, the SAFE Z altitude control utilizes the on-board accelerometer to keep the heli at a consistent altitude. With its vertically mounted flight controller, it significantly improves damping and removes vibration to the gyro. What you get is a heli with incredible control and performance and the ability to execute dazzling 3D maneuvers. Linear servos deliver the muscle for impressive control authority while the 45C LiPo flight battery produces efficient power for 3D flight.

So I guess we just get updated firmware - bummer.
Not going to do anything for pilots that can already fly.

Looks like the only real improvement is battery voltage telemetry. I wonder if it's for the RTF radio only or if there will be a BNF S3 version ? Since there is no BNF announced I'm guessing right now it's for the RTF TX only. Or maybe they just have a lot of S2 BNF's to get rid of first. I won't be rushing out to get one either to replace my S2.

Hmm, if you already know how to fly, I see no reason to pay the price premium on an S3 over the current S2.
I think most people would have anticipated a brushless motor.

Blade Nano S3

Ah...does HH want to abandon their heli line?

TBH the mCPX BL2 was a bit disappointing but at least it had several updates/upgrades compared with the old one. But this time...only the firmware was updated and HH raised the price tag by $20?

EDIT: I should not compare the price of BNF against RTF. But still...its not convincing to someone that know how to fly.

A nano s3 and not brushless main motor? What are the idiots thinking? Same stupid thing with the "new" 120s, just the same old crap. They both should've been brushless. I'm not getting one that's for sure. I guess the xk k110 will remain my smallest micro brushless helicopter.

Why why why can HH not just give us the Nano CPX, 130X, etc.? Not an update (because HH's "updates" usually end up degrading their product), just give us the helicopters that we all know and love.

Numberless Nano?

Apparently Horizon Hobby dropped the "3" so the new heli at the moment is just "Nano S"...
