The leading edge is rounded on most of the wing. For some reason I left it square near all the wing joint areas. I cant remember why.

I was looking in some of the RC Mags and there are some HUGE BL Outrunners out now. I saw two (One was a Plentenberg I Bleieve) I am sure one of these Two(If not More) Companies would donate one or two to the Project. I am sure others know more about these than i do as i did not buy the Mag..Just looked through it at the Shelf...Ya know?

Ya' know, Hans....
As I remember, you were running about 6 kW @ 1,100 RPM and Big Floyd was well up on its tiptoes when the teeth sheared off the belt.
I was thinkin' of building a 30 kW outrunner for a trike project to replace the little red Honda and a 6 kW motor would be a nice test-build. Getting the kv low enough might be a stretch, but you could still run a belt reduction...maybe even reuse most of the one you have.
A guy I know was gonna' experiment with some 8-inch stator laminations. I think he plans on cutting them himself...he runs a motor building/refurbishing shop. I was gonna' see if I could mooch some lams from him....maybe even use a corner his shop.
I'm a little weak on controller design, though. You know anything on that?

Scott, you might want to look/help here:

Do-it-yourself motor homepages, manuals/tutorials, checks and tests in the first message of this motor builders tips and tricks thread. The checks and tests may save you from frying your controller or motor. Thread is active, bookmark it for future reference and subscribe to it:

I just got bad news....they were transporting Big Floyd to the flying field on an open flatbed trailer, when an out of control tanker truck filled with lacquer thinner hit the trailer and spilled it's contents onto Big Floyd. Sadly, Floyd is no more

If that's a bad joke, which I hope it is, we're all going to hunt you down like a mad dog. After following this thread for almost two years, nobody is going to tell me something stupid like that happened.

Oh, BTW, you said you lived where? Expect visitors!

At the very least, you need to stock up on southern and western spirits (Jack and Rockey Mountain Cool Aid) to accomodate and hopefully placate your unexpected guests.
