Big Power in a Tiny Box

The iCharger X12 is a new Junsi product launched in fall of 2020. This palm-sized charger is packed with an unbelievable 1100W 30A of power packed into a miniature frame for up to 12S LiPo batteries, replete with features only seen in advanced chargers. The charger shares the accessible and easy-to-understand user interface found in the popular Duo iChargers. Buddy RC has been a major iCharger distributor since 2009, and their unparalleled service to iCharger users is well-known in the RC hobby community. The X12 is a serious powerhouse for your charging needs.

  • The X12 supports up to 12s LiPo, Lilo, LiFe, LiHV, LTO, NiZn batteries with a maximum 2A balance current, and it utilizes a unique balance calculation of internal resistance correction.
  • Intelligent fan control. The internal temperature sensor detects internal temperature, allowing the charger to control fan speed. Internal temperature protection. When the internal temperature exceeds the power reduce temperature, the output power is automatically reduced, and the charger will shut down when temperature exceeds the shut-down temperature.
  • This charger can save 32 parameter settings and support the data import/export to SD Card.
  • A 2.4" IPS LCD Screen provides rich information including current, voltage, power, capacity, internal resistance, control status, time consuming and temperature, etc.
  • Multi discharge features: self discharge, regenerative to input discharge, and lithium battery extra expanding discharge.
  • Supports measurement for internal resistance of batteries both offline and online. Can measure not only the internal resistance of the entire battery pack but also the internal resistance of each cell within the lithium battery.
  • The X12 has protection for reverse polarity, input oor output.
  • Supports software updates via USB port or SD card. The X12 also supports the “Junsi Console” software, which displays, plots, and analyzes the charge and discharge data.

  • Display: 2.4 " IPS LCD (320×240)
  • Net weight: 230g
  • Dimensions: 112 × 64× 37 ± 0.5 mm
  • Input voltage range: 11-53VDC
  • Maximum input current limit: <35A
  • Maximum charge/discharge current: 30A
  • Max. output voltage/current for digital power supply: 50V/30A
  • Maximum charge power capacity: 1100W
  • Maximum discharge power capacity: 50W built in
  • Maximum regenerative discharge power capacity: 1100W
  • Maximum extra discharge power capacity: [email protected]/40A
  • Maximum current drain for balancing: >2.0A

Crashing with style since 1994
What’s the difference between this version and the newly released also 1100w Junsi S6 unit..??? Please elaborate guys.. I’m in the fence for buying either one, but I had a hard time figuring which one is best for me...

Input: 9-32V; 45A
Output: 6s; 40A

Input: 11-53V; 35A
Output: 12s; 30A

Expressed figuratively:
the S6 is the big brother of the X6;
the X12 is the "long" brother of the X8;

No class, no smarts, and ugly
Does charter have the parallel charge like Revolectrix has on theirs where you enter the charge rate for a pack then how many you are charging and it does the math?

Really like that. Not that I can't do math, just reduces the possibility of errors.

No it doesn't. –
If you set the battery capacity (which I never actually do), it shows the calculated C-rate in addition to the charging current. But there is no multiplier function for it.

Has anyone been able to locate a 12s balance board like what the 4010 comes with? Right now I have a 4010 balance board but would like the see if there is something out there.

What is the wattage for balancing? That is what really seperates chargers.

I assume 50W.

That was now assumed for pure balancing if it is not charged at the same time.

When charging with high power, it can be assumed that about 8% of the charging power has to be dissipated as heat in the charger. Then clearly less than 50W balance power would be available. However, due to the decrease in current and thus decrease in output power during the CV phase, the balancerpower would increase again.

But I've never read anything about the priorities the charger control would set in such a case.

You could find out things like this yourself in a complex series of experiments.
