Recovering an arf

I have a arf that needs the horizontal and vertical stab recovered. Is there any way to do this without removing the hinges from the elevator?

I wouldn't think twice about cutting those hinges, recovering, and rehinging. It's probably quicker in the long run and you can be sure to get the leading/trailing edges covered to keep oil from bleeding under them and lifting it up.
