Phoenix update

Hi All

Following a recent email from Gadget Man, I have finally begun the build of the full size Godphoenix. I will post regular updates as the build progresses but so far here is what i have accomplished.

Size Comparison with glide test model.

From underneath (before i got it boxed in). The engine intakes are slightly recessed to add some interest.

And the partially boxed fusalage.

I will be continuing the build over the next week or so and hopefully it should glide ok.
I have found a way to increase all the wing areas so it should fly ok (im also hoping that the main body might help to lift the model.

Very Cool. Gotta love BSG!

Fury101 - Nice work on the phoenix. Your construction looks very tight so far.

Sabernut00 - Great looking Falcon! Don't hold back on Launching her to the sky.

Some more update pictures

Hi all.
Heres some more pictures of the phoenix. Im currently sanding and test fitting parts so please excuse the dust and scuff marks.

Just starting to sort out the tail fins and cockpit/hangar area.

From above with a very rough hangar partially boxed in.

Well, thats it for now.
I should be able to do some more on Friday (day off) so look for some more updates after the weekend.

Hey Paul,

Nice to see a little prompting from me, can yield such great results...

I am currently working on the side Pod design for you.

So I can get the size right, what is your total length for the model?

dude... that looks so fantastic. aerodynamics aside... I really hope that puppy flys well for ya!

simply awesome.

...what you need to do though is lay some of rope through it dipped in deisel, then light it on an extra channel. Then in mid flight you can turn into the flaming phoenix!

I like the shot from the front... need to see all the side slots and stuff, the nose is also where the formula one car tucks up into it and such

Not Such a Novice

ok, Paul you did tell us that this was your first RC aircraft build, but let me just say that you are NOT a complete novice!!!

Right, That said, I have attached some photos of my Pusher-Prop Komet to show you how I set up Servos on my Elevons.

Hope this helps you...

please tell us that you know how to fly RC planes though... you're well past novice at the very least, and working your way through upper intermediate, right?... please tell us this, or we'll have to send someone around and confiscate that phoenix!

That gun looks fantastic too!
