Entering a password with a scroll wheel will be interesting. This radio doesn’t have a touchscreen so it’ll be like before when we tried texting with a flip phone

No different than a model name on the DX series. A LOT faster than you'd think, but definitely not as quick as the iX radios

Thank you for the list. The better RF module grabbed my attention. Is that on the 6,8 and 10? Also, can you give a little more detail on the better RF module. |

If I fly sailplanes, EDFs I can use motor as much as I want for long as I want and fly as long as I can BECAUSE I know mAh consumed and how much I have left. Voltage IS and always was secondary, battery capacity mAh is always and ever will be primary information. And ALL that information I can easily get from my ESC, no need for special batteries. |

I’m kinda intrigued by the NX series. Not crazy about the folding antenna; always considered the fixed one on the DX9 was a smart way to go. Liking the hall sensor gimbals! Have no direct experience with them, but from what I’ve read they are far superior to the regular gimbals.
One question: when referring to battery life, are we comparing to the battery included with the DX9 or the optional LiPo that Spektrum offers? With flying season all but over here, I’m in no hurry to upgrade. Will be watching the rollout over the winter though! |

I am not a techy. I am still not savvy on my Android phone after owning it for 2 years. I did figure out how to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer using BT, I think. I'm not really sure what technology it uses to do that.
I don't want the complication of adding voice reports to my flying but it looks like I will have to either learn to live with it, or turn off the volume if I get a newer iX or NX series of Tx. I've looked at the DX9 as a backup to my DX18, but now the NX10 looks like a better alternative. It's only $20 more for the 1 extra channel, $480 for the DX9 or $500 for the NX10. I would consider the iX12 ($630) but can't bring myself to pay $65 per channel for 2 more channels. I guess real techies must enjoy the extra tech features that the iX series offer for that extra $130, although I'm not sure what they are. Don |
