Thanks for posting those photos. I have the same Proctor kit myself but not yet started building it.
I notice you have a Saito engine installed; what is the specific engine size?

Was wondering about the balance point. Will you need much nose or tail weight to get the
balance right? I have several Saito engines of dfferent sizes and also the 3-cylinder FA-120 size. The 3-cylinder is much heavier than the singles, hence my interest in how your balance point works out.

bjw, I have the Strutter powered with a Saito FG-14 which would be the same as a FA-82. I take off at half throttle, so a 62 would probably work and stay within the cowl, but I compromised because these birds swung a big prop and the FG-14 can easily handle a 15-4. I started out with my balance point at 3.5" using steel bar weighing a pound and a half mounted on the firewall as shown in the photos. I have since machined off 7 oz. and will probably take off an ounce or two more until it flies with the elevator at a more neutral position. Fuel tank is directly behind the firewall and the 3000MAH LiFe battery and ignition are as well. So, I may end up at 4"-4.25" til it's all said and done. I'm still in the adjustment phase having maidened it just last week.

Very nice work!

But how about taking realism one step further and let the dynamo actually work and replace the batteries?

Ha, it might be easier to use the air pump to pressurize the fuel tank!
