EDF Jet Meet Grenchen (CH)

I just ran into this thread about a Jet Meet in Grenchen (Switzerland) this past weekend. The jets on display are truly superb !!

Here's the original German thread:

http://www.rc-network.de/cgi-bin/bei...c;f=5;t=000588

with lots of very nice pictures here (Michael Maly)

and here (Rainer Keller):

and here:

Apparently some video will follow soon ...

Does your (not you Bob!!) 110% scale edf pass the "Lead Sled Hover Test" ?

Video : http://www.flugmodellbau.ch/files/f-18_hover.avi

[ Windows Media Player 9. or 10. plays it for me, but without sound.

This player (public domain dvix) plays it for me with sound:

VLC video player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ]

Are you sure your scaling is correct? 10% bigger than full sized?

@ Herb

Thanxs for publishing the links!

Mine is the hovering F-18. And the meeting was just perfect!

As mentioned above the flying site is beautiful and the Swiss Pilots are very smart and friendly!

The following codec download might help with the video:

It's not DivX codec, it's Xvid.
Works with the VLC Player.

I forgot to ask how it does in the "Lead Sled Taxi Test?" Or, as they say, if it takes full throttle to taxi, it's time to lower the gear.

I thought the L-29 Delfin in tigermeet scheme was particularly impressive (at least based on appearences), as it's all scratch built, all out of balsa and ply ...

The Su-27 twin 90mm (or single 120 I suppose) prototype is I think the Grumania prototype - with LE slats.

Joerg's converted bvm F-16 was apparently very fast. It uses a tiny two-wheel lg that's dropped after one circuit (and retreived by a specially trained dog )
