Introduction

The HobbyZone® Mini AeroScout™ makes learning to fly an RC (Radio Controlled) airplane easy and fun! It’s the perfect “mini” trainer because it’s a smaller version of the popular AeroScout S featuring the same pusher power configuration for better propeller and motor protection and incredibly durable EPP construction that makes it the most durable HobbyZone airplane yet – and an incredible value!

Overview

Welcome to the exciting world of RC (Radio Controlled) flight! If you’ve ever dreamed of taking to the skies, Horizon Hobby has you covered. We are committed to engineering aircraft that you can learn to fly with successfully even if you’ve never flown RC before. Every HobbyZone® aircraft we offer features industry-leading design and technology developed by experts to keep you in control and learning at your own pace so you can turn your dreams of flight into a reality!

The HobbyZone Mini AeroScout™ makes learning to fly RC airplanes in more places and smaller spaces easy and fun! Inspired by the extremely popular AeroScout S, its “mini” size makes it a perfect smaller trainer model that can be flown in large parks, soccer fields, football fields and other suitable spaces where larger models can’t typically be flown. It features incredibly durable EPP construction with the same pusher power configuration as its larger counterpart for improved safety plus better propeller and motor protection that makes it the most durable HobbyZone® airplane yet! This makes it possible for first-time RC pilots to learn to fly successfully with one of the most durable hobby-quality trainers ever for less than $100. It’s also extremely easy to assemble and repair if needed because – unlike other similar class models – the major airframe parts including the wing and tail simply bolt or snap into place…no glue or tape required! Best of all it’s a Ready-To-Fly (RTF) aircraft so it includes a controller/transmitter equipped with 2.4GHz technology, AA batteries for the transmitter, plus a rechargeable LiPo flight battery and convenient USB charger. That means there’s nothing extra to buy or provide so you can fly!

And the fun doesn't stop after you learn how to fly! It’s lightweight yet durable airframe is equipped with a powerful electric motor that delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls and more. That means the Mini AeroScout is a model even experienced RC pilots will appreciate and enjoy flying – and can also use to teach others to fly.

Ready-To-Fly Convenience This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) aircraft includes a controller/transmitter equipped with 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly including AA batteries for the transmitter, a rechargeable lithium polymer (LiPo) battery for the airplane and a USB charger. That means there's nothing extra to buy or provide so you can fly!

Pusher Power The Mini AeroScout's unique design and "pusher" power configuration helps protect the propeller and motor while also offering improved safety.

Durable Design Construction with advanced EPP material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe that's tough enough to handle everyday flying punishment without getting bent out of shape. And in the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can't repair them, a full line of replacement/spare parts is readily available.

Easy Assembly The Mini AeroScout arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system and electronics already installed. All you need to do is finish some quick and easy final assembly, without the use of glue or special tools, and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!

Capable Gear Take off from and land on smooth surfaces using the included landing gear plus steerable tailwheel. Or, remove the landing gear to easily hand launch then land on grass or other suitable surfaces.

Hi Jason I didn't see it listed or mentioned so I'm assuming no SAFE? I've been teaching my grandkids to fly using the Sport Cub S 2 RTF with SAFE. Would you consider this a next step up from the Sport Cub or about the same?

Description says it has SAFE! The brick looks like a Tactic - servos attached to board rather than linear style. Brushed motor so long flights on 1S, 800 MAH battery. Motor is direct drive, not geared. $99.99 so it may be the successor to the Champ.

Who will be first to put a BL180 on it...haha. Unfortunately spare fuselage/wing tail alone is $74!!! SO might as well buy , play then upgrade it.

But the brick will be a good resale item for use in WillyNillies airframes that use 3 channel if brushed motor acceptable on 1S.

Great RTF value ! Will probably mean the end of the yellow Champ , the best RTF value for many years .

Curious : it has SAFE , but no pitch/bank limits ?

Must be getting blind in my old age but I'm not seeing it. It's not a deal breaker if it doesn't have SAFE and it looks cool too.

I found where it says SAFE -- and I don't think I believe it. Under Product Specifications it says SAFE Technology near the bottom.

But I'm not seeing it anywhere else. Didn't see it in the "manual" or description. Bet it's a typo. Wonder if that will cause legal problems or something.

Looks like a great "how do I get started" plane.

Pretty nice looking intro to RC plane, but I wish they had a BNF version for we Spektrum transmitter owners.
That aside, it looks like a nice replacement for the Champ. Cheers, rick

This is my opinion :
A 3 channel RET plane without ailerons flies exactly the the same as a 4 channel RETA plane with ailerons as far as roll is concerned , roll is controlled by the right stick on a mode 2 transmitter .

The main difference between 3 channel RET and 4 channel RETA is : the left stick does not control yaw on the RET , but the left stick does control yaw on the RETA . If you have a computer transmitter , with a 3 channel RET plane .... you can mix the yaw channel to the roll channel and then use the left stick to control yaw .

The mini AeroScout just doesn't light my fire. The full size one is so ugly it's almost cute.
