Flywoo Explorer LR >>> 15-30 minute flight times!
Surprised this hasn't shown up here yet! Apparently the BNF versions sold out the first day but frame kits are still available atm:
https://pyrodrone.com/pages/search-r...oo+explorer+lr Ordered the frame kit which looks pretty awesome especially for only $30. The 1404 2750kv motors weren't available but was able to order some BrotherHobby VY 1504.5 2650KV motors which ought to work just fine. (still hoping/wishing they will make a light weight 1503 motor at some point) Anyway: Flywoo Explorer LR https://oscarliang.com/flywoo-explorer-lr/

Thanks, enjoy the build I will...
![]() Ya, don't expect it to use it for flying in anger but tooting around/cruising buzzing seagulls n such. Got me thinking tho... as this is a 4" frame, what about a similar-ish scaled down more toothpicky 3"?... hmmm... |

TomoQuads has a very similar frame.
https://tomoquads.miiduu.com/katana-...5quot-in-stock This is my first INAV quad. I am close to finishing setting up INAV, lot more learning compared to betaflight ![]() Holybro kakute F7 mini TBS diversity rx with Mavlink/ tango 2 Matek LIDAR Matek VTX mini Matek GPS w/ mag Xing 1404 3800kv Hopefully INAV will take the boring out it. Mini Long range should be fun, hopefully ![]() |

In all of Dave’s previous videos he states that you shouldn’t use 4s on the flywoo 16x16 stack, yet for the bnf models, only 4s is mentioned.
Do you think it’s better to run 3s on this model? I am looking at the analog version and would carry an insta360 go. Thanks |

The new Flywoo have very low Idle Current.. The thrust chart you see almost 8g/W which is very good.
For a 160g AUW, thats 20W. For 250g, 31W. For 4" 160g quad, I typically use 80g 650mah 4s. -> 577Wm. 28min possible. For 250g quads I use 1050mah.. ->932Wm. 30m possible In real life though... not so good ![]() |

So to put this another way, lower KV motors will pull less current than the ones Dave was using in the past, and so it's safe to run 4s without blowing the circuitry. With the new lower KV motors, a 4s battery is preferable for power/performance. Is this correct?
