New AR630 6ch AS3X receiver

I see that the new AR630 6-channel Spektrum AS3X receiver has been announced -

Programs like an AR637T, you can use a SRXL2 remote RX with it, and the main RX has the integrated antenna similar to the AF620 and AR410.

Looks good, I may have to pick one up for a scratch built foamie that's been laying on my bench for some time. Plan to use separate aileron servos with it so I can experiment with flaps / or coupled flaps/elevator like a control line stunt plane just for the heck of it.

Bet with the case off it's not very heavy at all - it's only 9.5 grams according to the specs, and the case is probably 1/3 to 1/2 that..

Looks like a solid unit with a good price point to utilize all of the forward programming capabilities.

I was curious why the AR637T was released with the dipole antennae. Makes installing into smaller airframes a bit more complex and this new 6ch RX is $30 less!

Also anxiously awaiting a 8+ch of one of these.

I’m going to put one in my GWS Corsair that I’m just finishing up. Been using a 620 for setup but want one of these in it.

These new improved sensitivity rx bare really great but some buyers think that the long whiskers improve operation
Actually , what they do. Is move the point of reception
Thats it
If you have an all foam model for example, where the rx can be located easily,to allow clear signal view, no whiskers needed
Properly Locating the whisker tips is usually easier ,especially if rx location is cramped but
Whiskers or no whiskers, these new rx have better reception
You just have to locate the end of the rx or the whisker tips where incoming mail can be seen

I like the no antenna design, however has no connectors for flight pack voltage, XBus, will probably will stick with my AR637T's for now. Looks like an update for the AR636B receiver...

I think they now have the 6 channel receiver line well covered. Wish they would work on the 8 to 9 channel line...

Is this just for foamies/parkfliers? Short range? From the description I don’t see whether it’s full or short range

+1!! They put out a 20 ch Tx and only 6 ch Rxs??? Don't need 20 but 7-9 would be nice!

All foam planes use 6 or less channels, and they sell a lot of them... its a priority for them to replace the 6 channel AR636 first.
