JJ, I love the Tiger Moth. It turned out really nice. Here's something to consider when you find the time: A couple of Corsairs mixing it up with a couple of Zero's ... or a couple of Thunderbults mixing it up with a couple of 109's ... just so long as one of the Zero's or 109's is smoking! As for the Corsair, I think you need to get one once you've aclimated yourself to the aileron world. Also, GWS uses those funky wheels to keep the weight down. They did provide some better ones with the Early Bird version of the Formosa, but left them out of the kits sent to the LHS's. I just fly without wheels and solve the problem of extra weight AND bad looks.
AD, My Molt Models P-38 weighs in at about 14 oz. I'm using GWS S1 IPS motors and GWS 9x7 3 blade props. The prop tips are cut back about a quarter of an inch to prevent them from cutting into the fuselage. I have two battery packs: TP 2S 860 and Tanic 2S 1500. The 860 pack weights less, so it makes the plane easier to fly. I'm sure mine flies a lot like yours. The climb rate is low and you really have to fly on the wing. Rolls are slow and you need to use elevator when inverted. Loops can be performed from a dive, but make it tight. Ashwin, you need to make friends with someone local that has a CC!! It has to be extremely frustrating to be limited like you are ... unless you have family coming to visit on a regulare basis. I feel for you! |

HL, I checked this morning on the cost of shipping to India. Just a rough shot and size is limited it could cost OVER $100 before it leaves the states. There may be duties on the other end. You could fly here and take it back cheaper. DD BTW I get stuff shipped from Japan for $2.50. and it gets here in 5 days. Go figure.

HL,
mine sounds alot like yours, 36+ WS, AUW ~14 oz, I'm currently flying on the IPS-AXC A GBX 5.9:1 with the 2 blade 9x7, I want a little more umph! I think I have the spur and pinion gears for the S1 setup, I can switch over and get the 3 blade 9x7's and see what happens. I'm thinking of building a full fuse foam P-38 using the fuse and wing parts from Nasty Toes http://nastytoesaviation.com/store.asp I could make a dual 350C version.. Thks HL for the info AD |
