Yakovlev mini Yak 3 600mm (3D Aeroworks) LW-edition

On the back of the success of the mini LW-PLA spitfire, ive decided to start a mini series of models for those calm mornings at the park/flying field.

and so the second of the LW series is the Yak 3.

started design this evening and will be basing the design using the same concepts as the spitfire.

specs

4 channel (AILERON, ELEVATOR, RUDDER AND THROTTLE)
950mah 2s
1806 2300kv on a scale prop 5x4.75 3 blade
3.7g servos
RTF weight : 278g

Thanks for the offer. I am using war thunder as a reference for each model which gives me highly detailed 3d models I can rotate and adjust the view.. I appreciate the offer but I beleive I should be fine for now. If you are interested, I will be looking for test pilots when the first version is ready

Absolutely. Not to mention the guy that owns the yaks would love a model of one. On a second question. Do you think you could do a yak 52?

Sure thing i can do a 52. I'll be doing a wide range of 600mm models from all regions and era's. Best thing about the smaller models if I keep them at the same span is the overall structural support layout can generally remain the same which will drastically cut down on design and testing time as well as maintaining the same electrical setup.

got the modelling finished last night and cut up. Need to slice then it'll be ready to print!

this will be a little heavier than the spit as the scale size makes the fuse slightly larger than the spitfire. also added a little extra support to the fuse around the canopy cut out. estimating RTFW of about 220-230g

the prototype will be suited for larger printers with a high print volume. once tested ill make it suitable for 200x200x200 printers.

This is awesome. Id be interested in a couple yak 52s . Non flyable. They would be static models for a couple friends that have full scale 52's

Sounds good. Would they need to have moveable control surfaces?? Also how big? On a stand, or mounted?

managed to get a decent chunk of time this evening and managed to get this bird ready for the air!

balanced and RTFW is 250g.. not bad for 600mm.

got the scale 3 blade prop done as well.. replaceable blades with a single m2 screw. the spinner winds on to the thread of the motor for a clean looking finish. Definitely needed for the balance. See how it goes, it balances on the conservative side i like to use for the maiden with a 950mah 2s, but ill take a little lead just in case it goes the same way as the spitfire.

just need to tune the receiver and trim control surfaces but i should be able to maiden it 2moro.

stay tuned! fingers crossed. .
