RIPMAX has them listed on their site. It says it was even updated today, and was on the price list, maybe they've got a few more left! Good luck!

RIP F-16?

They've discontinued it? The MAD FOOLS! They don't know what they've done.... That was the only decent model Kyosho made as far as I am concerned. I was going to BUY one when I got my next job!

Incidentally. um.. Ripmax? 129.99 - I should COCOA. I've seen those planes for 70-80 quid quite frequently!

I paid 69 for mine in Nov last year, it was very hard to find it ,I must have phoned 30 stockists before I found one that had one and mine was the last one left. I reckon you might fnd it difficult to find one now. I too wonder why they discontinued this aircraft as it is an excellent model and flys well in my opinion.

People might have noticed that with the Kyosho kits they seem to have started them at a high price with the big marketing build up, then lowered the price later on as initial demand has reduced, and then discontinued them to make room for a new model. 129.99 was the initial price.

I agree that this was a model that had the potential to be a classic, particularly as people have now found how to make it perform to it's potential.

I was trying to find a Kyosho F16 a few months ago, and I had a ton of people wanting to send me a "Ripmax F16", but somehow that just doesn't appear to me as a potential classic...

I'm not selling mine ( picture on the left BTW )

I also own the Ripmax F16. It isn't an EDF, but a 280 motor pusher. Flies ok, but is a lot slower and isn't as much fun.

Also the Ripmax F16 isn't quite as robust - its all 'depron' like foam. At least the Kyosho has built up wings. The Ripmax bird is just a sheet of shaped foam. It lasts only until the first 'arrival'.

Good luck with your search. Maybe a stand at Sandown next week will have one on offer ???

There's one at the LHS. I already have one but I'm thinking about snagging it as a second or for parts. Only problem is they want $199. Anyone interested?

In Western Australia here there are a few around,..for some reason no one likes them here and they aren't selling,...try google and look for Stanbridges hobbies in western australia, i'm pretty sure they have one,...

Kyosho F16

The Thunderbird F16 comes with a hotter wind motor as well. Flight times are shorter but supposedly faster. I fly mine with an Astro 05 brushless on 8 1700 cells with the kyosho fan. Static thrust is very good (got me out of a few bad launches), but the top end speed is sacrificed. It's cheap and fun, I'm on my 3rd one !

Happy greasy landings
