Everyone Loves Blimps...

Today I went to fly for Rolls-Royce Aviation, in the
Aviators Ball Dance celebrating the Aviators Day in Brazil...

I flew a 3 meter Indoor Blimp...

Towards the end of the party everyone wanted a picture with the Blimp
to keep as a memory of this celebration day event....

Take a look at the pics

As always, looks good and glad to see you working again. Retirement does non of us any good. I love to work too much.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to work two events in one day. Worked a grand opening of a new Allstate Insurance office in Grapevine Texas from 10 to 3 in the afternoon and then beat feet to Addison Texas for a Shakespeare in the Park Festival for the same company. Flew there for over 3 hours until it got to dark to see but we had a great time. A few photos of each. Partner took shot of airship which I have not seen but these are from a small camera with tilt/pan capabilities taken from just forward of the gondola. Not great for the first time out but not to bad either. Medium resolution allowed over 340 photos with a lot of room left. May have to look at this AP business one day. We did not use a spoting downlink just point, guess, and flip toggle. Have a good one. ed

Pretty cool Guga. The finish on the banner looks good. I have been experimenting with white coloured 'Economy Vinyl' which has low adhesive properties and comes off with no fuss at all. I originally asked the supplier for samples of different banner material and one they sent me would have sunk the blimp in an instant! Economy Vinyl, the way to go for me.

Did you get permission from Addison airport to tether you blimp across the street? From where you are you are 1,000 to 1,500 feet from the runway. You where defiantly above 150ft and above the highest structure. It is illegal to tether a blimp or balloon within 5 miles of an airport.
