Brushless motors

What does it mean when a motor is rated in Kv ie 2415 , 2815 , 1015 etc also another rating such as 160 watts

I am no expert, but i'm sure Kv means how many revolutions per volt, i.e Kv 1000 means 1000 RPM per volt. Or 10 volts input would get you 10,000 RPM.

watts is just volts multiplied by amps - it's a measure of the maximum power that the motor can produce. In this case 20amps at 8V, or 10amps at 16V, or any other combination.

There's no direct comparison between the power (watts) and Kv - they measure different things. You need lots of different figures to describe a motor, in the same way as you might quote top speed, 0-60 times, fuel economy and various other things to describe a car.
