Elevator mod
Built it stock, came out at 7.4 oz without battery (9.1 with 3x700).
Was impressed with the plane, especially at that price! A little more wing would be nice. Second landing was a little hard, and I think I may have had full up elevator. Evevator broke in half. So I imbedded a CF rod in the leading edge. |

LOL its pritty funny seeing one of these balanced right. ive got a cdrom motor on mine that weighs a little more than half of that stock motor. ive gotta have the battery stuck right to the nose for it to balance near the spar. i moved the tail control servos forward about 6 inches and used pullpull on the rudder. i would also have setup pull/pull on the elivator if i did it agan. im pritty happy w/ how everythings worked out except if i did it agan i would also using some strapping around on the tail so it wouldent have the tendency to snap like it seems to. my setup was about 7.6oz auw with the battery (3s tp480) and due to the lighter weight it still flys good with the smaller prop that the motor, a 17 turn with n50's i got from rcgroups user 'Power', can swing. ive got a wobbly prop adapter on it i picked up at seff. ill try and get you guys some picks sometime. the next one i do id like to use cf strips on the wing instead of the relativly (for how stiff it is) heavy cf rod in the kit.

I moved the batteries to the front quite a bit just to get the CG on the wing carbon spar. I like the way it flies except it does require a little down elevator when inverted.
I'm getting more used to it, I have to say on high rates I've never seen a airplane roll so fast. Thanks, Glenn |

I've got on of these Yaks and I love it! My CG is about 1/2" behind the recommended location. Hovers are rock solid!
I will post some pictures in a minute. |

Thanks rarner! I used the Eskay 400XT that Hobby Lobby recommends with it. It's a really powerful little motor. Looks nice too!

Oh yeah... it hovers at about 40% throttle!

For some reason that's the only one I've tried yet. I might try a 10x3.8 APC soon. When I do, I will be sure to post it here for ya'll.
