A Cox Conquest .15 was made to run one way..WFO! It was made for pylon racing back in the day. Telling it to run any other way would be a shame. If you have a need for speed you now have the engine for it. If you want something to play around in the air with you would be better off with another engine.

I dunno Tim... I've got several versions of the Conquest, both RC and CL/FF. The RC motor is a GREAT sport motor! Thottles well and puts 25's to shame. Little heavy for a modern .15 though..

My Dad built a Shrike for the Conquest-he had a lot of problems with the wing center flexing and cracking the wing sheeting. This might have been when he was on his "i'm too lazy to cover fuses, so I'll just paint with a brush" phase, but I'd recommend a little judicious reinforcement as I think the design is weak there, coving or not.

Hi Dave...If you or anyone on this site have any questions on the Conquest 15 let me know, I built these engines for years and helped with the design and flight testing. I still have several of these engines that I use in F/F and on 80/20 fuel they turn a 7x2.9 pitch prop 29,500 these are A.B.C. engines. I am Ron Young

I have a cox conquest .15, The name Cox is stamped on the side of the engine.
I am looking for a muffler for this engine. The inside retaining bolt siezed and snapped out a part of the plate.

Cox Conquest Muffler

If you haven't already heard from someone, you can obtain a new muffler from RJL at MECOA:

I was digging around in my old box of engines, and found two NIB Cox Conquest .15 RC engines. I bought these engines in '79 I believe. Anyone have any idea what these are worth?

I have a third one that I flew in a Quickee Quarter Midget Trainer (Fred Reese design, I believe) and it was one screaming engine. That plane was a little draggy, and built heavy (3.5 lbs) but that engine would pull it straight up OOS. IIRC, I used a Rev-Up 8.4 prop and it turned it around 18k.

Great Planes sells several RC combat planes that are great for .15 engines. The P51 makes for a really nice fast flying plane that tends to behave more like a smooth pattern plane than a all out pylon racer.
