I'll try to get KM #2 up by the weekend and get some shots. KM #1 balanced out well and there should be no fear of it being tailheavy like the competition. I ran a Himax 2025-5300 with a Cobri GB, Hitec Electron 6 ch rx, Tanic 3s2220 pack and Phoenix 25ESC. If anything, she was a tad noseheavy.
I'll have some news about shipping on Monday.

PLENTY like a 4lb profile with a TT pro .46 on it, but not ballistic like my 3.89lb Bad Boy that had a YS .63 on it.

Was just sitting here thinking... I sure am glad they moved the servos under the wing and not on top like they had them at first...

I got the tail surfaces cut and ready for glue last night, but did not glue anything up. We'll see what this weekend holds, I may be able to get it done Saturday morning...

Would a himax 2025-4200 work alright in this guy? What gear ratio? Prop size?

I think it would fly the plane, but not 3D it well. If I remember correctly, that motor is rated at 15 amps.

We tested the 2025-5300 and run it right at the limit of 25 amps and it 3Ds the plane well. We are using a Cobri GB 6.3:1 12x3.8sf prop and Tanic 3s2220 packs.

Contact Jeff at www.e-flightline.com and he can give you a more deffinitive answer on your setup. The are the guys that we turn to for all our e-questions and their service is second to none.

How do you think a Hacker A20-20L with a 11x4.7 prop and a polyquest 3S 1800 would work in the mini Katana.. The setup should be running about 35oz's of thrust. I've been thinking about one of these planes for a while, and i just got this motor setup, so i might just have to talk myself into getting one once they are available.

Bill K, I was on the waiting list for one of these planes, and some place called Troy built models e-mailed me and said they were going to be a distributor for the plane. But I am having no luck. Where did you get yours!!!!!!!!!

Raceachevy,

That motor will fly the KM and make a light plane. If you don't plan on doing serious 3D with it I'd say go for it.

Freddy,

The plane Bill got was a SEFF display model and I let him take it because we happened to meet up there. Troy built is one of the distributors for the KM as well as 4 others including myself. They will contact you again when the planes are in the states for your order.

Yeh, I need a motor for the KM.. Not sure which one.. But - on a 40 sized Katana - I would use a .91 four stroke - sooo.. I need that sort of power..

Whaddya reccomend Nova?

William - I remember many posts ago it was mentioned that PA was using pico servos I think. Would HS 55's fit in the servo bays without need of mod?

How large a prop can you mount on the KM and maintain good clearance? Can it handle a 12" prop?

We ran a 13x6 on Mad Mikey's KM with no clearance problems (had almost 2" clearance).

Tram, You could always use a setup with a 28mm motor and Cobri GB for 28MM. You would prolly add 2+ ounces to it though, but I don't see that as a problem as one of the protos flew well at 28.5oz.

I use HS55s in mine and there is minimal fitting issues.

Minimal issues means that there are some issues?
