Jeti 900MHz NG

Jeti users, where could we place the 900NG receiver and antennas in the fuselage? was told the antennas have to be 90 deg. to eachother.
Will gluing the antennas on top and bottom of fuselage be good (parallel)? Anyone used the 900NG on a carbon fiber sailplane?

Thanks!

I am going to endeavor to get the antennas away from the wing.

And now.......I concrete

I think everyone just takes one antenna out from the top and another one from bottom. Much the same concept as in Explorer BF with rx in wing. The antennas bend a little in wind, maybe bringing the closer to 90 deg, and the range will be as good as it can be. I have never had low signal warning with this configuration.

Eye Eye and Concreteman - I removed 52mm from the nose to obtain a 120 - 125mm CG to start.

Well done, like a steak.

I have flown again and am happy with 123-125.

Moved my antennas way up to canopy opening and results are perfect! No more tx cryin and chart says fire at will, no fear.

I have been a Dinogy fan for years. Mark, the owner, is a long time modeler and all around great guy. His service is awesome too, ships very quickly. I'm using 3S 1,000 now (needed a tad more nose weight) but have used the 850's both 3S and 4S in the past. Also used larger packs in pattern planes, helicopters and sport planes.

3 Generations Explorer and Maiden Q

3 Generations Explorer

Made my Maiden flight with the new Explorer Q this week

Wow, I´m blown away! what a nice glider to fly.

My setup:

Q- strong version
Servos: MSK 6110 for elev/ruder/ailerons MSK 6130=flaps
Motor: Topmodels Xpower "windy" direct drive
ESC= YGE 60amp
Propp/spinner: Xmodels 12x8
Lipo 3c x 1000mah

I cut the nose 40mm (and might cut another 10mm! will decide first after more flight tests)

CG= 124,7mm

Overall flying weigth 1380gr (without extra ballast)

At the maiden (appr. 6m/s and small thermals) I flew my Explorer 2 first a couple of starts and then my BF also a couple of starts just to make comparisons to the Q. With all 3 gliders I flew appr. 10-15 minutes /launch with ease.

My favorit? without doubt the new Q......it didn´t want to come down!! I made at the most appr. 25 minutes and could for sure been upp there longer.

Heres some pictures of 3 Generations EXPLORER´s

Maidened and flown in day 1 of the visalia contest. Ton of heavy hitter pilots and i am holding my own. The Q4 is running like a champ. No wind conditions, im using the 1200gr 3.8. Goes up like crazy. Real happy... the contest is fierce, with insanely low launch heights. I am there but gotta keep the heights down....we're talking some launches under 25m...really!!!

Another 3.8 V-tail complete- V rudder question

I recently flew my new Q4 3.8 V-tail on it's first flight. Also white wings standard build, AUW is 48 oz (1360 grams). Pretty standard build, 6130 servos for flaps, 6110 servos for ailerons, new MKS75K-r servos for elevator and rudder. Powerline 1025/10 with 14X9 GM flat, pulls about 40 amps on 4S. The model is a simple build for anyone considering purchase. Fuse goes together very quickly with the built in sockets and RX leads. Wings are the usual IDS install, I used Aaro's wedges that are a big help. I use a Zepsus dual input switch with a small LiFe for backup in case of ESC/BEC failure. Never happened with my trusty CastleLite50, but good to have it.

The model is very fast to climb out, 150 meters in 10 to 15 seconds at full power. Starting at cg for the V-tail at 102, seems good to start anyway. I cut about an inch off the nose, battery is all the way back. See the picture for my battery sled. Very happy with the usual NAN Explorer flying.

I also have a 4.0 Q4 cross tail, both are fine models, haven't decided about which to fly when. I would like to get more rudder authority on the V-tail though. The elevator feel is very nice where it is, but the rudder response is pretty soft. I have some ideas about getting more rudder throw without disturbing the elevator settings but am wondering how others solve this. I happily use Mike Shellim's OpenTx templates, hoping someone else might have some ideas using Mike's templates.
