A340-300........Depron I.A.W. Airbuzz

I am building another A340-300 in association with Airbuzz

While I am building it, Airbuzz and myself will be creating a set of Autocad drawings which hopefully will be available later.

I will be following the construction of Airbuzz's original A340 and also introducing some improvement that Airbuzz is building into his new A380 (By the way Good Luck with the A380)

Airbus A340-300
scale: 1:22,3
wingspan: 2,7m
length: 2,9m
Motors: 4x GWS EDF75
Battery: 3s4p E-Tec SHP 1700mAh totally 6800mAh
Model scratchbuilt in depron with balsa wingstructure.

Coool. When everyone finishes we should make a 1:22 scale meet. it would be inpresive to see all the jets lined up. good luck

A number of A330/A340s lined up you will find at the site of Carsten Scharf .
All of them are built 1/16 scale.

We actually did fly to a meeting me and a couple of friends, we had each one enormous home-made box that was simply too big to go through the airports normal bagage-handling so they had to get a guy to come out to the check in disc and carry our boxes to the plane on a trolly. We had 5 helicopters and 7 planes in the boxes. You should have seen the faces of the airport staff when they saw us line up for check in. that was halarious, and even more when they checked the weight of the boxies. comments like "are you bringing air?". One of the planes was a 1,8m C130 Hercules. I spent that flight in the cockpit discussing aviation with the very friendly flightcrew.

Hey Phil- great to see you have gone electric mate! Looking forward to seeing more of your new designs.
The collaboration between yourself and Airbuzz should work very well,he's done some unbelievable work with depron airliners.

I note with interest the new Airbus Industrie A380 is about to take it's first flight tomorrow.

I hope things are progressing well with your build. I look forward to the flight report, and hope to have the plans eventually. I might just try one of your 'huge' aircraft someday...

Design update

Sorry that there has not been an update on the A340-300 for sometime but I am working hard drawing the model on AUTOCAD.

The basic fuse is designed with all the major bulkheads complete. Wings are drawn; all the ribs, front and rear main spar design is also complete.

Next to be designed is the Engine pylons and center wing box. Sketches have been drawn to ease my design.

Nose wheel steering/retracts need to be designed as well as the main gear and retracts.

Fuse joining system design (two places) has been complete and await testing.

All this has been accomplished with thanks to Airbuzz who sent some 100 odd photo's to assist me in the design.
