Was just at the Taylorsville park on 2700W &5300(ish) testing out my new edf. There was another pilot there way across the field, was going to go say hi, but my insurance company called so I had to tend to that instead

I still have yet to maiden my Super Airliner. Anybody know of any good wide open areas? maybe with a deserted paved road?

Ever tried the park behind the condos about 1000 W and 7000 S ?
Big open space and small parking lot.

West of Winco and a block or two north.
Go west on 7200 to 1000 West. Turn north into the condos and left at the first street. It turns north again and opens up into the park.

My brothers and I went flying here Friday afternoon: http://goo.gl/maps/k0iqc

I had posted about it last year. There used to be a barricade that didn't let you drive over the bridge and down the road to nowhere. Last year we would park in the parking lot for the park and walk across the bridge with our gear. We were surprised to find that they have removed the barricade and you can drive right back there now.

It was harder to get back to the general area when the legacy highway construction was going on. But now that it is all done it is simple to get there by just going down 90th south.

Last year a cop drove up and checked out what we were doing and then took off without saying anything to us. So we figured it must be okay to fly there.

We were hand launching but to our surprise another modeler came up as we were leaving. He took off form and landed on the road. It was cross-wind as the wind was coming out of the west but he showed me that it could be done. He said he discovered the place a couple of months ago and has been flying there quite a bit lately.

All of the baseball diamonds had games going while we were there. But they were far away from us and we didn't even notice them.

My brothers and I decided we would definitely be returning to that location allot this summer.
